Phillip Merrick is the CEO of Fugue, where he drives strategy and leads the company's day-to-day operations across product, marketing, and sales. Prior to joining Fugue, he built Sparkpost into a leading cloud email delivery provider going from zero to eight figures of ARR in three years. Before Sparkpost he led webMethods, Inc., a leading vendor of business integration software, which he co-founded in 1996. Under his leadership, webMethods pioneered web services and XML-based software integration technologies. The company demonstrated the strongest revenue growth ($1M to more than $200M) of any US software company from 1998 through 2002, and achieved the most successful software IPO to date in February of 2000. Phillip holds a degree in Computer Science from the University of Melbourne (Australia).
