Fugue will work to raise awareness of the risks of cloud misconfiguration and how enterprises can address it

Frederick, Md. – March 4, 2019 – Fugue, the company delivering autonomous cloud security and compliance to prevent data breaches and policy violations, today announced that it has joined the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA), a not-for-profit organization with a mission to promote the use of best practices for providing security assurance within cloud computing, and to provide education on the uses of cloud computing to help secure all other forms of computing.

Gartner estimates that, “through 2022, at least 95% of cloud security failures will be the customer’s fault” —the category of cloud vulnerabilities that Fugue eliminates.

“What makes data breaches resulting from cloud misconfigurations especially frustrating is that they are entirely preventable,” said Fugue CEO Phillip Merrick. “We joined the Cloud Security Alliance to help educate security professionals across all industries on how to identify cloud misconfiguration vulnerabilities, how attackers weaponize automation to exploit them, and how to build resilient cloud security to prevent them.”

Fugue recently announced a Software-as-a-Service product that locks down the security of critical cloud resources with self-healing infrastructure and provides full compliance visibility and reporting across an organization’s entire cloud footprint.

With Fugue, enterprise customers can establish known-good baselines for critical cloud infrastructure across multiple environments. When it detects drift from an established baseline, Fugue automatically reverts it back to the baseline to protect against data breaches and compliance violations. This approach eliminates human error, false positives, and alert fatigue, without the need to write code or maintain automated remediation scripts.

“Fugue’s expertise in identifying and remediating cloud misconfigurations will be invaluable to our ongoing effort to help organizations understand how to secure their cloud computing environments and maintain a strong compliance posture,” said CSA Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Jim Reavis.
