Today we announced that Fugue has been acquired by Snyk, the leader in developer-first security. This marks Snyk’s entry into the fast-growing cloud security market, and I want to share why I’m so excited about joining with them to build the future of security.
G2, the world's largest independent software marketplace, released its Winter 2022 report on the cloud security market. Fugue leads in all six customer satisfaction categories among cloud security buyers and users.
Today we announced that Fugue now supports Google Cloud, in addition to Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. Google Cloud support is key to providing our customers with a unified view of—and control over—the security posture of their cloud environment across cloud platforms. It was a top customer request, and considering the number of Google Cloud Projects we’ve seen onboarded to Fugue over the past few days, it’s clear that Google Cloud is experiencing significant growth.
Today, Sonatype and Fugue have partnered to deliver the tools developers and operations need to address every meaningful cloud attack surface and ensure compliance at every stage of the SDLC with a single unified solution. Read the press release here.
I’ve now been in the role of CEO here at Fugue for a number of weeks, and thought it might be worthwhile to lay out my reasons for joining this fantastic company. First off, I’d like to say a big “thank you” to the wonderful staff and customers of Fugue who have given me a very warm and enthusiastic welcome. Not only that, they have graciously and patiently entertained my many, many questions. I’ve spent the past 10 or more years helping lead innovative and fast-growing cloud and SaaS companies such as VisualCV (an early AWS customer) and SparkPost. Before that—at webMethods—I helped leading companies like Dell and Bank of America utilize our pioneering web services software in early cloud applications. One of the common concerns we had at all these companies was ensuring that the...
In late November of 2017, I informed Fugue's Board that I intended to lead a search for a new CEO. We had a substantial amount of money on the balance sheet, some really impressive customers, a solid product, and a highly motivated team - many of the things needed to attract a world class CEO. My passion has always been for technology and team building, and it's been an amazing 4 years at the helm through the R&D and engineering phases of the company and well into the go-to-market execution phase, but I've known since founding Fugue that someday I'd look for a partner to fulfill Fugue's potential, and the time is right. Growing Fugue is now about execution in the market, building out great sales and marketing functions, and scaling the business. We've put together great teams to...
“It worked on my laptop!” Seven weeks into your latest project, you’ve gotten to the point where management wants a demo. Your first spike was run from a node server that you ran on your laptop. When another developer joined, you moved the environment to Vagrant so you could share an image. When the third and fourth bodies were assigned, you decided to save time by automating the installation with Chef. You’ve all been collaborating effectively for weeks and now you need to put it out on a cloud provider to give your stakeholders access. Your cloud infrastructure was set up by a different team with domain expertise on the platform. Sadly, that did not confer upon them a psychic ability to anticipate the networking needs of your Riak cluster. Nor did it allow them to anticipate...

We’re excited to announce that we’ve closed a $20M C Round with NEA and other previous investors, including Core Capital , bringing our total funding to $34M. In addition, we’re consolidating our branding and our company now will be known as Fugue—that’s the name of the cloud operating system we’re developing. The rapid adoption of cloud computing brings new challenges as applications have become distributed and infrastructure has proliferated. Fugue reins in this complexity and simplifies operations by building, enforcing, and optimizing cloud infrastructure, continuously and automatically. Fugue can be used to operate cloud-native workloads and to migrate and run traditional data center applications in the cloud. It will initially operate workloads on Amazon Web Services. Read more...
Luminal announced its first product, Fugue , at AWS re:Invent on stage with Werner Vogels, CTO of Amazon. Fugue is immutable infrastructure realized. It fully automates the deployment, operations and maintenance of infrastructure on AWS. By continuously regenerating infrastructure components, Fugue enforces desired state, removes unwanted changes, and mitigates infrastructure quality issues like noisy neighbors. Fugue uses Ludwig, a domain-specific language that allows you to compose infrastructure using libraries and other programming techniques. With Ludwig, you can error check at design time rather than in production. We invite you to read why we built Fugue and register for beta. Below is Luminal CEO Josh Stella introducing Fugue on stage with Werner Vogels at AWS re:Invent.
